Abstract: Resumo: O artigo é fruto de estudo exploratório concluído na tese de doutorado, na qual apresentamos parte do resultado sobre a história das pioneiras cariocas do Serviço Social, onde destacamos uma das primeiras assistentes sociais negras do Brasil, Dona Ivone Lara.
