Liver cirrhosis is among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although liver biopsy is the gold standard for the assessment of liver fibrosis in cirrhosis, it has its own limitations. Therefore, noninvasive methods to detect liver fibrosis are widely preferred.
