| This study was designed to estimate the biochemical composition of ovary follicular fluid in relation to its size variations in local Iraqi She camels (Camelus dromedarius). Hundred ovary were collected from 50 adult she camel, 4 to 10 years old that slaughtered at Al Najaf abattoir during the breeding season of camelids. The ovaries were transferred immediately to the laboratory in a cold box. Later on, the follicular fluid was collected separately from small and large size follicles, (3-9 mm) and (10-19 mm) respectively. The fluid was kept at -4 0 C for further analysis. The follicular fluid samples were analyzed to estimate the metabolic composition (cholesterol, glucose and total protein), and the ionic compositions (calcium, sodium and potassium). The results of this study revealed significant (P< 0.05) increase inthe glucose and cholesterol concentration, while there were significant decrease in the total protein in large size follicles. Meanwhile, significant increase was seen in the concentration of Na+ and Ca+2 in relation to the size of the follicles. However, significant decrease was occurred in the concentrations of K with increasing follicle size. In conclusion, the results of this study revealed a significant variations in the concentration of the follicular fluid metabolic and the ionic compositions with the variations of its size.

Background. Soft skimmed-milk cheese Kariesh is the most popular soft cheese in Egypt. In the past, Karish cheese was traditionally produced by the random fermentation of milk speared its cream layer by the gravity force. Recently, its production has been carried out by several manufacturing procedures using, ultrafi ltration (UF) -skimmed milk retentate, certain bacterial cultures, enzymatic coagulation, etc. Therefore, the biological and nutritional evaluations are required. The present study was conducted to evaluate the properties of such cheese coagulated using different procedures involving probiotic strains with emphasis on some chemical and biological attributes. Material and methods. Kariesh cheeses were manufactured without whey drainage from UF cow's skimmed milk concentrate coagulated either by 3% yoghurt bacterial starter culture (YC), 3% probiotic starter culture (ABT type) or 2.5% glucono delta lactone (GDL) added whether separately or incorporated with rennet (0.05 ml/kg) to achieve the acidic-enzymatic coagulation in comparison with those made conventionally using un-concentrated milk coagulated either by 2% of YC or ABT added whether separately or incorporated with rennet (0.25 ml/kg). Due to the fact that whey is naturally needed to drain in the conventional (C) procedure, the use of GDL as coagulant was eliminated. Results. The obtained results indicated that the application of UF-technique in Kariesh cheese industry was associated with signifi cant increments in the values of protein, ash and pH. Moreover, the electrophoretical patterns of UF-Kariesh cheese obtained with the incorporation between YC, ABT or GDL and rennet were distinguished with the presence of the band of glycomacropeptide, which is normally lost in the whey through the C-procedure. Furthermore, the food intake (FI), body weight gain (BWG), food effi ciency ratio (FER), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoproteins (HDL), total, as well as ionized Ca of blood and the count of lactic acid bacteria of feces of rats were signifi cantly heightened, while low density lipoprotein (LDL) level was lowered as they fed on UF-cheeses, especially when coagulated using ABT, those caused the strongest persistence against the rat colon tumor, which was induced by the injection with 1,2 di-methyl hydrazine. The use of ABT led to raise the dry matter (DM) and ash of Kariesh cheese. Also, the FI, BWG, FER, TG, total, as well as ionized Ca of blood and the count of lactic acid bacteria of feces of rats were signifi cantly increased, while TC, HDL and LDL of blood, as well as coliform count of feces of rats were signifi cantly declined. The incorporation of enzymatic with acidic coagulation in Kariesh cheese manufacture increased signifi cantly the values of ash and pH. However, the cheese fi gures of DM, protein and titratable acidity were decreased. Also, the values of FI, BWG, FER, TC, HDL, LDL and feces LAB of rats were lowered. LDL-Related Intolerance to Glucose, Diastolic Hypertension and Additive Effects of Smoking Were Found with Three Female Study Groups

Initial prodiabetic risk profiles were invented here with three female study groups consisting of primarily healthy women (A1: 1990-1999, n = 160; A2: 2009, n = 88; A: n = 248, 36 ± 14 years; B: 2014: n = 65, aged 37± 11 years). Significantly higher blood pressure was found comparing intolerance versus tolerance to glucose (p < 0.05, IGTT, 22 of 68). High LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) showed additive effects as LDL-related intolerance was further related with rise of blood pressure (p < 0.05), of triglycerides (p = 0.02), of fasting blood glucose (p = 0.07) and of urine pathology (p = 0.07). High LDL-C of women who reported smoking at baseline was correlated with diastolic hypertension whereby alcohol problems overlapped (p = 0.036, A). Unhealthy combinations were found consisting of LDL-related intolerance to glucose, LDL-related smoking, of alcohol-related hypertriglyceridemia or of combined drinking and smoking testing urine pathology over the course of time. Obese women were at direct risk for hypertension in the presence of high LDL-C and submaximal ratio of serum albumin to triglycerides (Alb/Trig). Obese women reacted highly sensitive to critical alcohol consumption showing then macroalbuminuria. Current participants who disowned daily alcohol consumption showed healthy morning urines and normal fasting blood glucose. Mild decrease of HDL-C was observed during heavy smoking of relatively young women who had normal biomarkers. Women with intolerance to glucose were at direct risk for hypertension whereby high LDL-C and/or smoking triggered prodiabetic risk profiles. Obese women had elevated LDL-C during hypertension and reacted highly sensitive to alcohol-related proteinuria and/or hematuria. Keywords
