Abstract: Serous otitis media (SOM) occurs in children and constitutes one of the most significant causes of hearing loss in young age, posing as an important risk factor for long-term hearing loss. SOM is underdiagnosed, most frequently in infants, or the appointment to the ENT doctor is delayed due to non-acute symptomatology.
