Abstract:A novel, Gram-stain-negative, motile, facultatively anaerobic bacterium, designated strain NF48 T , was isolated from surface seawater around Zhoushan Islands. Cells were rod-shaped (1.1-3.9Â0.5-0.9 µm). Strain NF48T was able to grow at 10-40 C (optimum 30 C), at pH 5.5-9.0 (optimum 6.5-8.0) and with 0.5-7.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2.0 %). The genomic DNA G+C content was 65.5 mol%. Chemotaxonomic analysis showed that the main isoprenoid quinone was Q-10 and the major fatty acids were C 18 : 1 !7c and C 16 : 0 . … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
