Sensors Application Using PIC16F877A Microcontroller

Abstract: In the 21 st century, sensors have become common and part of everyday life. Such as touch-sensitive cell phones, computer monitors, elevator buttons, lamps that automatically dim or brighten, and even cars that park themselves. In addition, there are many applications of sensors that are hidden but control many facets of modern life such as in cars, airplanes, medical imaging, satellite communications and navigation. This research effort examines three sensor types, their data, and how to integrate it with a s… Show more

“…Hence, by evaluating the time required for transmitting and receiving the ultrasonic wave, several information such as the range to the sensor, size, bearing etc related to the object or obstacle that causes the reflection of the wave (Fig. 2) can be measured [13]. The speed (v) of an ultrasonic wave in a certain medium is affected by two key parameters: temperature and medium nature.…”

“…We should note that robots have been used to serve and assist people since ancient times, especially patients in hospitals, and that with the emergence of the Corona virus, the demand for sterilization robots has increased in order to avoid the spread of infection and reduce the number of deaths. Our robot was the most effective way to combat the Corona virus in hospitals by taking care of patients' health and sterilizing at the same time [14], [15].…”

“…It runs on 5 volts and can be powered by any microcontroller, but we will use Arduino. As we will see later, controlling a relay module with the Arduino is as easy as controlling any other output [15], [16].…”

“…In [14] two separate modules of ultrasonic transmitter and receiver were attached to a P89C51RD2 microcontroller development board to determine distance from 5 cm to 50 cm. A combination of three different sensors with a microcontroller type PIC16F877A was implemented in [15] to design an intelligent system for many applications, the ultrasonic sensor is one of these sensors, which functioned to determine a distance to the targets. In [16] ultrasonic sensor was interfaced to a microcontroller type peripheral interface controller (PIC) to measure distances up to 2.5 m, ultrasonic distance detector would give an light emitting diode (LED) Indication when the object is too near around less than 10 cm.…”
