Sensor fusion in the detection of land mines

Abstract: Abstmct-A number of sensors have been identified suitable for basic detection of land mines. It seems that sensor fusion offers an improved method for an improvement in .False alarm rate without large reduction in detection probability. The paper states the internatioiial scope of the land mine infestation problem, and the range of sensors and their characteristics. A simulation of a number of sensors is in progress.
