Prasasti Ye Te mantra adalah salah satu data autentik dalam mempelajari dan menemukan konsepsi teologi agama Buddha di Bali pada abad ke-8/9. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsepsi teologi dalam agama Buddha di Bali, yang dijabarkan dalam dua rumusan masalah yaitu tentang konsepsi Tathagata dan konsepsi ajaran dharma sebagai penghancu penderitaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, yang data-datanya dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan studi dokumen terhadap naskah prasasti dan naskah lontar yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa temuan prasasti Ye Te mantra yang terdiri atas lima hingga tujuh baris dan naskah lontar yang relevan, yang dianalisis menggunakan teori semiotika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat diketahui bahwa Tathagata adalah panggilan untuk Siddhartha Gautama atau Bhatara Sri Sakyamuni, yang telah mencapai pencerahan sempurna dan terbebas dari jeratan mara. Tathagata menjelaskan bahwa manusia perlu mengusahakan kebahagiaan dengan cara belajar dharma untuk melepaskan diri dari mara tanpa ragu-ragu dengan batin yang tenang guna mencapai nirwana.

This study investigates a literary work, a poem, from a linguistic framework. The aim of this study is to reveal the meanings found in William Wordsworth’s poem ‘Strange Fits of Passion Have I Known’ from systemic stylistic analysis in the framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics and Verbal Art Semiotics. The data were collected by library study and analyzed with a descriptive, deconstructive method and content analysis with an intrinsic objective approach. This result of the study proves that the subject matter of this poem is ‘the poet rode a horse to Lucy’s cottage from the rice of evening till the drop of the bright moon”. The deep level of meaning refers to the last clause complex ‘O that is a mercy, to myself I cried If Lucy should be dead.’ The deeper level of meaning of this poem is about ‘the death of a young girl named Lucy’, and finally, the deepest level or the theme of this poem is about ‘death is a natural part of life cycle.’

Intertextuality is a hermeneutical strand of poststructuralism. In biblical scholarship, since Hays’s influential work Echoes of Scripture in the Letters of Paul (1989), the term has also been employed to refer to a later text’s interpretation of an earlier text. Regrettably, however, for the past three decades, scholars have failed to come to a consensus on how to understand and apply intertextuality in New Testament studies. Though both literary and biblical studies employ the same term intertextuality, their conception and application of intertextuality differs substantially. Accordingly, this essay will sketch how literary and biblical studies have perceived and utilized the concept of intertextuality. Following this, the study will evaluate these approaches. Finally, the present essay will conclude with a proposal for how to relate intertextuality and New Testament studies that is a cogent middle ground between poststructuralism and biblical studies, thereby compensating for both sides’ deficiencies.
