Semi-Analytical Modeling and Analysis of Halbach Array

Abstract: Analysis of Halbach array placed in open space by using finite element method involves substantial consumption of memory, time, and cost. To address this problem, development of a mathematical modeling and analytic analysis method for Halbach array can be a solution, but research on this topic is currently insufficient. Therefore, a novel mathematical modeling and analytic analysis method for Halbach array in open space is proposed in this study, which is termed as the Ampere model and the Biot-Savart law (AB … Show more

“…Surprisingly, the magnetic field underneath is not totally canceled itself, as predicted by the Halbach model. [ 27,28 ] This effect could be originated from the small gap that existed among the magnets. To some extent, the above field of the Halbach array shows a higher magnitude compared to that of the horizontal array.…”

“…37,38 Based on the EMCM and the equivalent Ampere current model, the 3-D analytical model for magnetic field and force calculation of cuboid Halbach arrays with the regular magnetized direction was presented. [39][40][41] Furthermore, the magnetic field of a cylindrical array was calculated, and a simple and efficient structure of Halbach array was given out by substituting a complicated magnetic source with an equivalent fictitious magnetic charge sheet. 42,43 Based on the SMPM, an analytical model of the magnetic field of trapezoidal Halbach PM array was obtained.…”
