Semi-active control for 1 story building via a magnetorheological damper

Abstract: This paper presents the development of semi-active vibration control via a magnetorheological damper of a seismically-excited 1-story building structure. The control scheme is based on a Proportional Integral Derivative Controller (PID) due to its solid performance and robustness in a wide variety of operating conditions.
