Show more

“…ha -1 ) in pre-emergence of cultivar SP81-3250 (Plene ® system) caused severe injury, which reflected in high harvest losses. The herbicide also reduced plant height by 33.6 cm, the number of tillers by 13, the leaf + stem dry mass by 40.1 g and the root dry mass by 96.9 g, all compared to the control (without application), 110 days after budding (Bertolino and Alves 2014). In the present work, the use of imazapic (133 g a.i.…”

“…However, the sugarcane cultivar used in this work are highly selective to ametryn. This herbicide did not alter the physiological and productive characteristics of SP 81-3250 (FARIA et al, 2013;BERTOLINO;ALVES 2014;FERREIRA et al, 2005), indicating that the highest CO 2 emission at 90 DAA is due to the direct effect of the herbicide on the soil microorganisms. The response time of the microbial community that develops in soils cultivated with SP 81-3250 was not immediate, and the greatest CO 2 emission in soils treated with ametryn may arise as the microorganisms are exposed to this agrochemical.…”

“…Therefore, these species may be the most problematic weeds for control, since the use of selective herbicides will be difficult because the crop is also grassy. However, it is known that the herbicides diuron+hexazinone+sulfometuronmethyl and amicarbazone+isoxaflutole are efficient in the control of P. maximum and B. decumbens, and diuron+hexazinone and amicabazone are selective to sugarcane in the 'Plene' system (Giancotti et al, 2012;Bertolino and Alves, 2014). Paula (2015) reported the grasses B. decumbens and P. maximum as the most aggressive species to the initial development of sugarcane plants from meristematic seedlings when compared to the species I. hederifolia and D. horizontalis; at 90 days of coexistence, the presence of 2 plants pot -1 of these species caused a reduction in dry matter accumulation of approximately 55%, 47%, 50%, and 24%, respectively.…”
