Background: Time of planting is the most important factor in influencing the yield of the crop. Performance of genotype entirely depends upon the time of planting. For obtaining higher paddy production study of crop for transplanting time and different varieties concerning weather parameters are very necessary. Methods: Experiment was laid out in a split-plot design with three replications at Agriculture Research Station Farm, Vadgaon-Maval, Tal-Maval, Dist-Pune (M.S.) during Kharif, 2013 to study effect of transplanting time on different varieties of paddy concerning weather parameters. 48 treatment combinations were comprised of 4 transplanting times viz., 26th, 28th, 30th and 32nd meteorological weeks and four varieties viz., VDN-3-51-18, VDN-99-29, IET-13549 and RDN-99-1. Result: Transplanting of Kharif paddy during 28th MW improved plant growth. Variety VDN-99-29 recorded significantly higher plant growth. Among the interaction, when the VDN-99-29 variety of paddy was transplanted during 28th MW produced significant effect on plant growth. Correlation indicated that maximum temperature, bright sun hour and growing degree days showed significant and negative co-relationship with plant-growth, minimum temperature, RH-I and RH-II showed positive and significant correlation with growth.

Beside reducing production cost, re-utilization sub-optimal used planting media was environmentally good practice, especially when the plants were cultivated in the pots. This research incorporated black rice accession that had high economic value. The plants were cultivated in 10-kg pots, arranging in Randomized Block Design with three replications, each consisted of 5 pots. The treatments were weight-based additions of local organic soil and commercial organic fertilizer of 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, and 0 % (no-addition). Result of this research indicated that 10 % addition of local organic soil was considered enough to cultivated black rice in the pots. The plants were observed to grow normal with plant height reached 150 cm, consisted of 70 clumps and produced 56.52 g dry seeds per pot, equivalent to 11.69 ton per ha. In percentage, addition of 5, 10 and 15 % local organic soil, resulted in 33-53 % increase in number of mature panicles, 33-56 % increase in total number of seeds, 123-232 % increase in number pithy seeds, and 106-289 % increase in weight of dry seeds per pot.

In South Sumatra the cultivation of black rice is uncommon. This is because of the lack of available land for planting which can be used to grow local black rice. Since more farmers dominate the white rice or brown rice cultivation. One effort that can be made to increase the area of local black rice planting areas is to use South Sumatra's vast swampy land. Related to the previous study, this research will be carried out by testing the growth of F1 seeds crossed by accession to high productivity local black rice and nutrition with marinated resistant Inpara 5 varieties. In quantitative parameters, the maximum average value of it was shown at the age of 12 MST plants that IM.6 plants at 145.08 as the highest average value of the crossing results. IM.6 was the highest median value with 144.5. The maximum standard deviation value was 5.06 for IT.11 plants, and the minimum value being 141.4 for IM.6 forms and 150.0.6 for IM.6 plants. The qualitative parameters consist of plant shape, stem color, leaf color, and flag leaf are seen when the plant is 6 MST or in the vegetative phase. Done by describing plants from 5 sample plants per randomly selected population. From the result of this research, there is no significant differential between accession and parental.
