“…20 the envelope of 14 the shear test on the dowel connection (black solid curve) is showed up to the 20% strength 15 degradation, assumed as the attainment of the connection failure (see section 2). The comparison 16 demonstrates that the retrofitted connections (blue dash-dot and red dashed curves in Fig. 20) show 17 lower initial stiffness with respect to the dowel connection (black solid curve in Fig.…”

“…After the first 11 concrete crack, the dissipated energies in the dowel connection and in the retrofitted solutions were 12 quite similar, because of the increased deformability of the dowel connection due to the concrete 13 damage. The dissipated energy in the two retrofitted connections increased up to the end of the 14 shear tests; moreover, the deformation of the rubber hose around the horizontal dowel in the beam 15 led to larger relative displacements (lower stiffness of the beam-to-column connection) and 16 dissipation. This evidence resulted in larger values of the dissipated energy for test 2 than for the 17 test 1.…”

“…There could be other forces acting on the connection. Hence, experimental studies were conducted on the precast concrete frames with the connections of beam-to-beam (Aldin Hosseini et al 2015;Sayadi et al 2014), column-to-beam (Ameli et al 2015;Kim 2000), column-to-column (Tullini and Minghini 2016), wall-to-wall (Soudki et al 1995;Zhu and Guo 2016) and column-to-foundation (Haber et al 2014;Belleri and Riva 2012) to determine the structural performance.…”

“…Chen, G. And Baker, G studied the influence of bond slip on the crack spacing of concrete by simulation in 2003,and believed that the influence of bond slip on the crack spacing is very obvious [9] . Belleri Andreaet al [10] put the grout sleeve for column and foundation connections in earthquake zones, and found that the grouting sleeve connection is similar to the traditional connection, which can ensure the ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the connection area.…”
