Seismic Model Parameter Optimization for Building Structures

Abstract: Structural dynamic modeling is a key element in the analysis of building behavior for different environmental factors. Having this in mind, the authors propose a simple nonlinear model for studying the behavior of buildings in the case of earthquakes. Structural analysis is a key component of seismic design and evaluation. It began more than 100 years ago when seismic regulations adopted static analyzes with lateral loads of about 10% of the weight of the structure. Due to the dynamics and non-linear response … Show more

“…The method of examining the response of a structure to a dynamic load is analyzed, which can be any: environmental (wind, sea waves, traffic, and so on) or artificially caused by testing impulses. For the creation model of a seismic signal, we took into account the fundamental empirical research of seismic signals, and mathematical models were used for their approximation [1,2]. Also, we used the streaming nature of the seismic process and considered that the seismic signal must be a wave, as was noticed in [3].…”

“…Energy dissipation technology has been developed to install auxiliary mass dampers to improve the performance of flexible buildings sensitive to earthquake loads and wind [1,2]. A tuned mass damper (TMD) is a mechanical device that consists of a spring mass system.…”
