The escalated growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has started to reform and reshape our lives. The deployment of a large number of objects adhered to the internet has unlocked the vision of the smart world around us, thereby paving a road towards automation and humongous data generation and collection. This automation and continuous explosion of personal and professional information to the digital world provides a potent ground to the adversaries to perform numerous cyber-attacks, thus making security in IoT a sizeable concern. Hence, timely detection and prevention of such threats are pre-requisites to prevent serious consequences. The survey conducted provides a brief insight into the technology with prime attention towards the various attacks and anomalies and their detection based on the intelligent intrusion detection system (IDS). The comprehensive look-over presented in this paper provides an in-depth analysis and assessment of diverse machine learning and deep learning-based network intrusion detection system (NIDS). Additionally, a case study of healthcare in IoT is presented. The study depicts the architecture, security, and privacy issues and application of learning paradigms in this sector. The research assessment is finally concluded by listing the results derived from the literature. Additionally, the paper discusses numerous research challenges to allow further rectifications in the approaches to deal with unusual complications.

With the proliferation of embedded technologies and wireless capabilities, today's vehicles are no longer isolated mechanical machines. They become part of a hyper-connected system-Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)-that has the potential to support multiple levels of autonomy and intelligence improving considerably the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of transportation networks. However, this raises new security issues that make the whole system prone to cybersecurity attacks that threaten both the safety and privacy of all road-users. This paper gives a short background tutorial on the main security issues and the different attacks that hinder Intelligent Transport Systems. To enable secure and safe ITS applications, this paper provides a comprehensive analysis of existing solutions and highlights their strengths and limitations. Finally, this survey presents key challenges in the field, and discusses recent trends that must be factored in by researchers, implementers, and car manufactures to improve the security of ITS.

This paper addresses the problem of control of a vehicular platoon system with limited on-board resources in the presence of time-varying delay and sensor faults. A platoon system with predecessor-leader following topology in which each vehicle suffers from probabilistic sensor faults and time-varying delay is considered. To reduce the utilization of communication and energy resources in the system, a novel event-triggering communication strategy at the sensor-controller channel is proposed. Based on the proposed triggering strategy, a criteria for co-designing of the triggering parameter and the control law ensuring internal stability of the platoon system is developed. Furthermore, additional conditions are established for the obtained controller to guarantee string stability of the platoon system. The efficacy of the proposed methodology is demonstrated through numerical simulations.
