Abstract:Cylindrical nanoparticles immersed in an absorbing environment were studied by evaluating the solutions of Maxwell's equations in a cylindrical symmetry with dispersive materials interacting with electromagnetic radiation. Analytical solutions are developed for the efficiencies, dispersion (Qs), for different complex refractive indices of materials found in the literature. The scattering is derived from the near field solutions on the surface of the studied nanoparticle. The results show that, although the abs… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
