“…At E = 1 V/μm, the Grandjean planar texture collapsed into the FC texture and the whole active surface was covered by the FC state, as can be seen in Figure 6 a. Strong light scattering was produced (only 30% of the incident light could cross the sample) ( Figure 6 c), accompanied by the disorder of the helical structure and distortion of the PBG, as shown in Figure 6 b [ 40 ]. As a result, no laser emission was produced in this case ( Figure 7 ).…”

“…A liquid crystal (LC) is an ideal medium for developing CPL materials with high g lum due to the self-assembly of LC molecules. Combining Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) with self-assembly of LCs could significantly enhance g lum and tune the emission color of CPL materials. , For example, a recently reported CPL material is constituted of luminescent cholesteric LCs as chiral donors and achiral long-wavelength aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorophores as well-assembled acceptors . In this system, the chiral transport channel of circularly polarized fluorescence resonance energy transfer (C-FRET) is highly dependent on cholesteric and energy resonances in the highly intrinsic chiral LC assembly.…”
