Scalar field localization on 3-branes placed at a warped resolved conifold

Abstract: We have studied the localization of a scalar field on a 3-brane embedded in a six-dimensional warped bulk of the form M 4 Â C 2 , where M 4 is a 3-brane and C 2 is a 2-cycle of a six-dimensional resolved conifold C 6 over a T 1;1 space. Since the resolved conifold is singularity-free in r ¼ 0 depending on a resolution parameter a, we have analyzed the behavior of the localization of a scalar field when we vary the resolution parameter. On one hand, this enables us to study the effects that a singularity has on… Show more

“…We have investigated its geometrical issues, as well as the behavior of the vector gauge field in this background. In our last article [45], we showed that a real scalar field exhibits some interesting results in this geometry, as a parametrization of the well-known volcano potential for the KK modes and a robust localization of the massless mode upon the resolution flow. Here, through a new warp function that possesses a Z 2 symmetry, we have analyzed the components of the stress-energy-momentum tensor, the string tensions, and the relation between the mass scales.…”

“…In five dimensional braneworlds, parameter-dependent domain walls are obtained by means of the deformed potentials [46,47]. In six dimensions, we proposed an exterior string solution evolving under a resolution flow, where the parameter comes from the 2-cycle of the resolved conifold as the transverse space, a well-known smoothed orbifold of string theory [48,49,50,51,52,53].…”

“…On the other hand, studies of field localization are very common in the literature in 5D [30][31][32][33][34][35] and 6D braneworld [6,7,12,14,[26][27][28]. In general, we find strategies of localization for all the Standard Model fields but the way that this localization is possible varies in different works.…”
