Six-dimensional standing-wave braneworld with normal matter as source

Abstract: A six dimensional standing wave braneworld model has been constructed. It consists in an anisotropic 4-brane generated by standing gravitational waves whose source is normal matter. In this model, the compact (on-brane) dimension is assumed to be sufficiently small in order to describe our universe (hybrid compactification). The bulk geometry is non-static, unlike most of the braneworld models in the literature. The principal feature of this model is the fact that the source is not a phantom like scalar field,… Show more

“…By assuming the background vector as the derivative of a scalar field and an independent bulk cosmological constant, pure geometric thick brane solutions are found. We also obtain an anisotropic standing wave braneworld [52][53][54] solution in this pure geometric torsion geometry.…”

“…And, finally, the underlying metric of our model is symmetric in on-brane spatial coordinates corresponding to the spatial coordinates of our universe. We want to note that our braneworld model also differs in underlying metric from that considered in [29], where authors also study the 6D standing-wave braneworld with normal matter as source.…”

“…Most of the braneworlds are realized as time-independent configurations, however, mostly within the framework of cosmological studies, there have been proposed models that employ time-dependent metrics and matter fields [4]. Recently was proposed novel non-stationary braneworld generated by standing gravitational waves minimally coupled to a bulk scalar field [5][6][7]. In this paper we study cosmological solution to the specific 6D standing waves braneworld [7] involved a phantom-like scalar fields.…”

“…By the metric (5) we want to describe geometry of the brane placed at the origin of the large extra dimension, r. Advantage of the ansatz (5) is that it looks symmetric in the brane coordinates x, y and z, while in 5D standing waves braneworlds [5] the brane 3-plain is nonsymmetrically warped. Also (5) is simpler than the metrics considered in the models [6], since it contains only one singular point, r = 0, where the brane is placed to smooth the singularity.…”
