“…Many diseases have been reported to be associated with sarcoidosis, and many of them are understandable in light of the background of suppressed immunological responses. Some are due to a simple blocking of the function of an organ by granulomatous infiltration, while others are poorly understood associations (27). Eckes mentioned a possible and meaningful association of sarcoidosis with psoriasis in his report of 13 cases (8).…”

“…Sarcoidosis is a chronic multisystem disorder of unknown etiology characterized by accumulations of T lymphocytes and mononuclear phagocytes in affected organs and noncaseating epithelioid granulomas (1). It is well known that sarcoidosis is associated with fungal infections, such as cryptococcosis, as well as with a number of other immunologically mediated conditions (2, 3), malignancies (3, 4), vasculitis (3, 5), hormonal distrubance (2, 3), necrobiosis lipoidica (3), granuloma annulare (6) and pyoderma gangrenosum (3, 7). Psoriasiform epidermal changes have also been observed on the cutaneous lesions of sarcoidosis (8, 9), and the association of sarcoidosis with psoriasis has been reported (10).…”
