Sampled‐data control of a class of uncertain switched nonlinear systems in nonstrict‐feedback form

Abstract: Summary This paper investigates the stabilization problem of sampled‐data output feedback for a class of uncertain switched nonlinear systems in nonstrict‐feedback form. An observer is designed to estimate the unmeasured states, and a sampled‐data controller is obtained by discretizing the virtual controller that is constructed via the dynamic surface control method. It is proved that the designed sampled‐data controller can render all states of the resulting closed‐loop system to converge to a neighborhood of… Show more

“…In order to compensate unknown time‐delay terms, other authors have exploited the Lyapunov‐Krasovskii functional. More recently, by utilizing two techniques, variable separation and partial compensation approach, the backstepping‐based methods have been proposed for nonlinear switched systems with nonstrict‐feedback structure . For example, to avoid algebraic loop problem, the variable separation technique has been applied to nonstrict‐feedback switched systems.…”

“…Generally speaking, all the aforementioned control methods can be mainly categorized as follows: average dwell time (ADT) method, MLFs method, and CLF approach . It is necessary to be mentioned that the most control schemes introduced above are based on the powerful CLF approach for nonlinear switched systems .…”

“…In addition, the output feedback control problem has drawn much attention . Moreover, sampled‐data control gradually becomes a popular control tool on account of the remarkable development in digital technology . In the scheme of sampled‐data control, the controllers with analog‐to‐digital and digital‐to‐analog devices for interfacing are digitally implemented into engineering systems.…”

“…In general, SNNs can switch at different times under a switching mechanism, which can be classified as the state‐dependent switching, time‐dependent switching, arbitrary switching, etc. Until now, the analysis and design of SNNs have been deeply investigated and widely used, while several results have been reported in other works . Note that most aforementioned results are time independent and assume that all the state information is available.…”

In fact, the state variables may be impossible or cannot be obtained directly.…”
