“…Studies in which treatments were given to the dam during gestation involved s.c. administration of amphetamine or methamphetamine on GD 12–15 (Clark et al, 1970; Adams et al, 1982; Buelke‐Sam et al, 1985; Holson et al, 1985; Vorhees, 1985), GD 7–12 (Acuff‐Smith et al, 1992, 1996), GD 13–18 (Acuff‐Smith et al, 1996), or during all or most of the gestation period (Nasello et al, 1974; Martin, 1975; Hitzemann et al, 1976; Nasello and Ramirez, 1978; Satinder and Sterling, 1983; Sato and Fujiwara, 1986; Cho et al, 1991; Tan, 2003). In one study (Martin et al, 1983), the treatment period during gestation was not specified, and the study is included only for completeness. The treatments in many of the studies resulted in significant decreases in maternal weight gain, associated with a decrease in maternal feed intake.…”
