Root Exudates Metabolic Profiling Suggests Distinct Defense Mechanisms Between Resistant and Susceptible Tobacco Cultivars Against Black Shank Disease

Abstract: play a role in inducing plant defense responses, showed potential for disease control application. This study provides an insight into possible disease resistance mechanisms of root exudates, and attempts the beneficial utilization of these secondary metabolites of plants.

“…Effect of VB1 at different concentrations on mycelial growth and sporangium production of P. nicotianaein vitro VB1 stock solution was prepared in sterile distilled water, and the solution was ltered through a micro ltration membrane. The effect of VB1 on mycelial growth of P.nicotianae was evaluated on PDA plates according to the method of Zhang et al 18,19 . A 7-mm P. nicotianae agar disk from actively growing 15-day mycelium of the pathogen was transferred into a new PDA plate with different concentrations of VB1 (0, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 mM).…”
