Robust Sum-Rate Maximization in Transmissive RMS Transceiver-Enabled SWIPT Networks

Abstract: Due to the low power consumption and low cost nature of transmissive reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), in this paper, we propose a downlink multi-user rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) architecture based on the transmissive RIS transmitter, where the channel state information (CSI) is only accquired partially. We investigate the weighted sum-rate maximization problem by jointly optimizing the power, RIS transmissive coefficients and common rate allocated to each user. Due to the coupling of optimiz… Show more

“…In this paper, rate split signaling is considered where the transmission information is categorized into common and private streams. Both common and private streams are used for communication, in addition to utilizing common stream for sensing and designing it independently 3 . The signal can be expressed in the following form where ) denotes the linear precoding matrix, and…”

“…By continuously monitoring and analyzing factors such as network congestion, signal strength, and user demands, the system can dynamically allocate resources to optimize performance and ensure efficient utilization of available wireless resource. Previous works provide some algorithms for allocating resources [3]- [5], which consider communication sum-rate as the optimization metrics for the system, but in future communications network, the requirement of terminals will not be satisfied with communication, but with interaction with the wireless environment. Thus ISAC offers a new way of thinking.…”

“…In particular, the authors of [25] reported a new transmissive RIS enabled multitier computing framework, in which the joint beamforming design was explored with the aim of minimizing the overall system energy consumption. In another work [26], the authors further studied the architecture of a downlink communication transceiver for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) networks. Based on the imperfect CSI assumption, a robust system sum-rate maximization strategy was proposed.…”

“…Recently, [9] proposed a transmitter architecture based on transmissive RIS (TRIS), which is a very promising transceiver technology. An important reason for this is that the structure of TRISbased transmitter is quite simple compared to the conventional transmitter [10]. Specifically, the TRIS transmitter consists of a horn-fed antenna, a controller, and a TRIS panel [11].…”
