Performance Analysis of RIS-Aided Double Spatial Scattering Modulation for mmWave MIMO Systems

Xusheng Zhu,
Wen Chen,
Qingqing Wu
et al.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a novel transmissive reconfigurable intelligent surface (TRIS) transmitter-enabled spatial modulation (SM) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. In the transmission phase, a column-wise activation strategy is implemented for the TRIS panel, where the specific column elements are activated per time slot. Concurrently, the receiver employs the maximum likelihood detection technique. Based on this, for the transmit signals, we derive the closedform expressions for the upper bound… Show more

“…In [30], the authors presented the RIS-double SSM (DSSM) scheme, in which the RIS is deployed in the middle of the channel, and the transmitter-to-RIS and RIS-to-receiver sub-channels are communicated with NLoS paths. Next, [31] investigated the system performance of RIS-DSSM scheme in terms of the ABEP and ergodic capacity.…”
