Robust doped BaCeO3-δ electrolyte for IT-SOFCs

Abstract: Single phase polycrystalline BaZr0.3Ce0.5Y0.1Yb0.1O3-δ electrolyte material was prepared by solid state reaction route. Rietveld analysis of the XRD data confirms the tetragonal symmetry in the I4/mcm space group with unit cell parameters of a = b = 6.0567(3) Å and c = 8.5831(5) Å. The addition of ZnO as a sintering additive was found to reduce the sintering temperature and enhance both overall sinterability and grain growth. Sintering temperature was reduced by 200-300ºC and a very high relative density of ab… Show more

“…A sol-gel combustion reaction is a typical strategy and has been commonly used toward the syntheses of nano-size powders, as reported in previous literature. [258][259][260][261] For the samples obtained via this method, the particle characteristics will be influenced by several factors. Among them, the chelating agent is one crucial factor contributing to the morphology evolution of NPs.…”

“…Due to difficulties in the compression and transportation of hydrogen, the researchers shifted to focus on fuels such as hydrocarbon or ammonia to remove carbon and prevent CO 2 poisoning easily [12][13][14]. In addition, PCFCs have more benefits than other fuel cells, including high power density, less weight, rapid startup, high flexibility, a long lifetime, and small size [15].…”
