RESUMOUm dos principais problemas de alocação de recursos humanos na execução de projetos está associado ao ResourceConstrained Project Scheduling Problem. Nesse contexto, este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar um cenário sobre a produção acadêmica sobre o tema, apresentando os autores clássicos, as revistas científicas com maiores publicações, os constructos mais utilizados, as áreas de interesses mais referenciadas e as obras mais recentes dos autores com maior número de publicações no tema. Os resultados demonstram que o tema se mantém relevante além de permitir identificar os pontos que ainda podem ser explorados por novos autores. SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION ABOUT RESOURCE-CONSTRAINED PROJECT SCHEDULING PROBLEM: A BIBLIOMETRIC AND BIBLIOGRAPHIC STUDY ABSTRACTOne of the major problems of human resource allocation in project execution is associated with the ResourceConstrained Project Scheduling Problem. In this context, this article aims to present a scenario about the academic production on the topic, presenting the classic authors, the scientific journals with the largest publications, the most used constructs, the most referenced areas of interest and the most recent works of the authors with Number of publications in the theme. The results show that the theme remains relevant as well as identifying the points that can still be explored by new authors.

Global research indicates that the success rate of software projects worldwide is currently very low, and has been low for the past few decades. The application of risk management has improved the success rate of software projects in the developed world. This study investigated whether the success rate of software projects in South Africa is also low, and whether risk management might improve these success rates. The results indicate that the average success rate of software projects in South Africa is indeed very low, and that software projects in South Africa often experience the same risks as in the developed world. It was also found that, where risk management is applied, software projects produce better results than software projects with no risk management. The majority of South African software companies use ad hoc internally developed risk management procedures rather than formalised procedures. OPSOMMINGDie suksestempo van sagteware ontwikkelingsprojekte oor die wêreld is tans laag en volg die tendens reeds vir 'n aantal dekades. Die toepassing van projek risikobestuur het die suksestempo vir sagtware projekte wel verbeter in ontwikkelde lande. Hierdie studie het 'n ondersoek gedoen om te bepaal of die suksestempo van sagteware projekte in Suid Afrika ook laag is, en of die toepassing van risikobestuur vir sagteware projekte die suksestempo kan verbeter. Die resultate van die studie het aangetoon dat die gemiddelde suksestempo van sagteware projekte in Suid Afrika wel baie laag is, en dat die projekte dikwels soorgelyke risiko's ervaar as in die ontwikkelde wêreld. Die studie het ook bevind dat sagteware projekte waar risikobestuur toegepas is beter presteer het as projekte sonder risikobestuur. Die studie het ook aangedui dat die meerderheid sagteware maatskappye in Suid Afrika gebruik maak van ad hoc risikobestuur prosedures wat intern ontwikkel is, en dus nie formele prosedures gebruik nie.

Software development is inherently risky, however the need to adapt processes intended for larger organisations introduces a new element of risk. In addition, the nature of many new software products can be described as "critical" and therefore should undergo a formal risk assessment procedure. Despite the majority of software projects involving these additional elements of risk, risk management planning is virtually nonexistent, as managers have not been trained in risk management. Few current software engineering curricula provide comprehensive coverage of risk, nor any practical experience in risk assessment. In this paper we propose that risk be repositioned in the software engineering core body of knowledge, and discuss preliminary requirements for a one semester course on risk. As experience is considered an essential element of successful risk assessment, a feature of the course is the use of case studies based on real projects to simulate an historical perspective for students.
