Background: Although dyspareunia is one of the common health issues, up-till-now it remains neglected in Eastern communities such as in Egypt, especially in Upper Egypt, where investigation or even taking of such problems is considered а taboo. The couples deny it on the grounds of shame; regardless of whether they feel а need for further consultation about it. Aim: Exploration prevalence of dyspareunia, its related factors, and its associated anxiety among Upper Egyptian women in Ɓeni-Ѕuef city, Egypt, Study the effect of counseling using PLӀSSӀΤ on dyspareunia and related anxiety. Subjects and methods: Α cross-sectional study using Counseling sheet following PLӀSSӀΤ model, Numerical Rating Scale, Calibrated scale and Beck Anxiety Inventory. Results: Of all the participants, 25.0% exposed to reproductive tract infection (RΤӀ), 23.5% had a history of gynecologic/pelvic surgery, 11.0% were menopauses, 86.5% were multipara. Of the 173 women, 52 % normal vaginal birth with episiotomy, 10.1% gave birth assisted by ventouse. Of 160 (76.9%) who were delivered vaginally, 65.3% had perineal tears. Person correlation coefficient test (г) illustrated, the greater the pain, the greater the anxiety, however, no statistically significant difference was found. Between the 2 mentioned variables. Progressive declining in dyspareunia, after counseling using PLӀSSӀΤ model, throughout 3-months follow up regardless sociodemographic characteristics, obstetrical, gynecological health and sexual behavior characteristics. Statistically significant difference between dyspareunia in pre/post counseling of at р-values <0.05. Conclusion: Our results confirm the strong link between dyspareunia and anxiety as well as the effectiveness of counseling using PLӀSSӀΤ model in the alleviation of women's dyspareunic pain and its associated anxiety. Recommendations: Active approaches are needed to overcome shame and embarrassment, and the stigma that may be associated with asking about common sexual health issues by activating the role of maternity health nurses in gynecologic clinics to enhance women's knowledge regarding sexual health issues.

Objectives: This is a cross sectional study conducted in order to determine sexual dysfunction in healthy women and risk factors.Patients and methods: The population of the study consisted of 282 women. The whole of the population, without sample selection, was included in the study. For data, questionnaire and Female Sexual Function Index-FSFI, whose Turkish validity and reliability study was conducted, were used. Student t and chi-square significant tests and logistic regression analysis were used to carry out statistical analysis.Results: It was found that 35.8% of 282 women who participated in the study were in the age range of 30-39 years, 54.6% had high school educational level or above, and 59.6% worked. Prevalence was determined as 53.2% FSFI score < 26 according to Female Sexual Function Index FSFI; 23% of the women had complaints about urinary incontinence UI. According to logistic regression results, it is determined that CFB risk is increased in patients with age and urination problem. It was determined that there was no significant correlation between income, number of children, prceived economic status, dyspareunia, having problem with the partner, experiencing premenstrual syndrome, and SD. Conclusion: In this study, approximately half of healthy women had SD and development of SD was affected based on some descriptive characteristics. As sexual life was considered as a factor increasing life quality, it was thought that it is fairly important to discuss the questioning of problems related to sexual life for systematic evaluation of patients, as well.Keywords: SD, risk factors, prevalence, Turkey.

Objective The incidence of obesity, which is a chronic condition, has increased in recent years. The association between obesity and female sexual dysfunction remains unclear, particularly in postmenopausal women. In the present study, we evaluated whether obesity is a risk factor for sexual dysfunction in postmenopausal women. Methods This is a cross-sectional study that analyzed data from interviews of postmenopausal women at the Climacteric Outpatient Clinic from 2015 to 2018. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 221 women aged between 40 and 65 years old were selected and invited to participate in the study. Obesity was diagnosed according to body mass index (BMI). The participants were grouped into the following BMI categories: group 1, 18.5–24.9 kg/m2 (normal); group 2, 25.0–29.9 kg/m2 (overweight); and group 3, ≥30.0 kg/m2 (obese). Sexual function was assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire. Cutoff points of ≥23 and ≥26.5 were adopted to define a diagnosis of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, Text Revision by the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-IV-TR). Results The desire and arousal scores were statistically higher in the normal BMI group than in the obese group (p = 0.028 and p = 0.043, respectively). The satisfaction scores were statistically higher in the normal BMI group than in the overweight and obese groups (p < 0.05). The total FSFI score statistically differed among the BMI categories (p = 0.027). Conclusion In the present study, obese and overweight postmenopausal women had higher total scores than women with normal BMI. Our results show that obese and overweight postmenopausal women had a higher index of dysfunction in desire and arousal and lower sexual satisfaction than normal-weight women.
