Antecedes/objetivo: El informe pericial es una herramienta utilizada por el perito psicólogo para sustentar científicamente la evaluación psicológica y comunicar su decisión sobre el objeto pericial al operador jurídico. Sin embargo, pericias psicológicas que se elaboran para este tipo de casos utilizan protocolos y emiten conclusiones que carecen de la exactitud y rigurosidad requerida para el contexto judicial. Es usual que no cuenten con una estructura adecuada, que carezcan de una continuidad lógica que integre los resultados y que sus consideraciones sean poco claras o contradictorias a raíz de una errónea elección de sus técnicas de evaluación. Método: En este artículo se presenta un contrainforme pericial donde se analiza la estructura, contenido, metodología y conclusiones de un informe pericial psicológico sustentado en la técnica del Statement Reality Analysis (SVA) que evalúa la veracidad del testimonio de un menor supuesta víctima de Abuso Sexual Infantil (ASI), que es la prueba habitual de cargo en los Institutos de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses. Resultados: El análisis y revisión del informe mostró deficiencias en el método, las premisas y conclusiones. Conclusiones: Se concluye que la evaluación de la calidad de los informes psicológicos como prueba de cargo basados en el SVA en casos de ASI ha de cotejarse sistemáticamente para verificar que cumplan con los estándares científicos, legales y jurisprudenciales a la vez que garanticen, cuando resulten en prueba de cargo, el estricto cumplimiento del principio de presunción de inocencia.

Child-to-parent violence is a form of family violence where the children are the aggressors. Objective: This study first aimed to analyze the psychometric validity of the Child-to-Parent Violence Questionnaire (CPV-Q) among Ecuadorian adolescents. Second, the measurement invariance across the children’s sex was examined. Finally, the prevalence of child-to-parent violence (CPV) was also determined. Methods: A total of 2084 adolescents aged 12 to 18 years participated in this study. The participants were residents of two provinces in southern Ecuador. A higher percentage of participants were women. They lived mostly with their father and mother. The married marital status of the parents was the most frequently reported. Most of the fathers and mothers of the participants completed primary education. The sampling design was probabilistic, with proportional allocation by age and quotas according to the number of inhabitants per province. The sample size was determined by using a finite population formula. All the participants were randomly selected. The CPV-Q was used to assess child-to-parent violence. The items were adapted linguistically and tailored to the Ecuadorian context. Results: The questionnaire demonstrated excellent model fit and adequate reliability. Full measurement invariance was held for all scales except for the reasons subscale pertaining to fathers. Statistically significant differences were observed with respect to the sex of the aggressor, with control/domain behaviors toward both parents and psychological violence toward the mother being more frequent among daughters than sons. Similarly, reactive reasons were more frequent among daughters than sons. Conclusion: This study provides significant psychometric evidence on the CPV-Q in Ecuadorian adolescents along with data on the prevalence of violence against parents.

Background/Objective: The risk of children being instrumentalized in contexts of gender violence poses a social and health problem that impacts children's future development. The main purpose of this research is to ascertain which risk indicators should be addressed by security force members when facing an emergency call regarding intimate partner violence in which children are present. This tool could be helpful for evaluating and preventing the risk of future aggression as a means to hurt mothers. Method and Results: In the course of three studies, a set of proposed risk indicators was developed. In Study 1, five interviews and two group discussions with experts working in gender violence cases (n = 18) provided us with information to develop an initial version of a measurement tool, the Index of Children's Risk of being Instrumentalized (ICRI), for gender violence cases. In Study 2, cognitive debriefing was carried out by professionals (n = 26) to evaluate the suitability of the items. This approach allowed us to obtain valid, content-based evidence. Finally, Study 3 included a pretest study in which security force members (n = 44) evaluate the appropriateness of the ICRI and, if needed, to make any necessary adjustments of the index. The results show that the indicators obtained in this initial approximation could help security forces when reporting cases of gender violence with children at the scene. Conclusions: Further attention to evaluating the risk of children living in intimate partner violence contexts is needed.
