Abstract: Maria RESUMOO processo de envelhecimento traz diversas alterações orgânicas, psicossociais e comportamentais. Entre elas, as degenerativas, como a perda de massa muscular e força, que afetam o equilíbrio do idoso, podem ser as mais preocupantes em função do risco que oferecem à ocorrência de quedas, que configuram um grande problema para a saúde e são causa de internações, quadros de dependência e até morte.
