Objective:To analyze the risks of illnesses related to the work context of nursing workers in a psychiatric hospital. Method:Cross-sectional and quantitative study, developed in a psychiatric hospital with 74 nursing workers. The Work Context Assessment Scale was used to measure the risks of illness at work. Descriptive analyzes were performed with mean and standard deviation. To test the reliability of the data, the Cronbach’s alpha test was used. The correlation between the factors of the work context was tested using the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results:The organization of work was considered serious, social-professional relationships were considered satisfactory and working conditions were considered severe for risks of illness at work. The repetitiveness of tasks, work conditions that pose risks to safety, inadequate furniture and physical structure of the workplace, and the existence of noise in the work environment were indicated as severe risks to workers’ health. Conclusion:The factor working conditions is the one that contributes the most to illness among nursing workers.

Objectiveto relate nonspecific low back pain within the nursing work context with their workloads, attrition processes and the risks of illness.Methoda cross-sectional study with 301 workers from a general hospital in the south of the country. The Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and the Work Context Assessment Scale composed of three dimensions were used: working conditions, work organization and socio-professional relations. The association of variables with low back pain was tested using bivariate and multivariate analyzes. The measure of association used was the Odds Ratio and its respective intervals with 95% confidence. The data collected were discussed under the theoretical framework of the work process within the marxist conception and the theory of social determination of the health-disease process.Resultsthere was a statistically significant association between the dimensions of work organization and working conditions with low back pain and they obtained a critical classification meaning moderate risks to the professional illness.Conclusionthe study allowed a better understanding of the nursing work process and its relation with nonspecific low back pain and signaled that changes in the organization and working conditions should occur in order to reduce the risks of nursing workers’ illness.

Objetivo: compreender as causas dos conflitos entre as equipes de saúde na transferência do cuidado pré-hospitalar sob a perspectiva dos profissionais. Método: estudo qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório, realizado no Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (SAMU) de Porto Alegre/RS. Foram entrevistados 28 profissionais do SAMU e observados 135 horas de atendimentos. Empregou-se a análise de conteúdo temática. Resultados: As causas atribuídas aos conflitos foram: (1) a superlotação dos hospitais e a pouca receptividade da equipe: os profissionais do SAMU se sentem culpabilizados pela superlotação dos serviços e punidos por meio da retenção de macas; e (2) a regulação e as (in)definições de fluxos na rede: há lacunas nas pactuações sobre o destino dos pacientes, recaindo aos profissionais o desafio de dar sequencia ao atendimento. Conclusões: o excesso de demandas e a baixa articulação dos serviços na rede causam conflitos entre as equipes de saúde na transferência do cuidado pré-hospitalar.
