“…chelonae is the primary pathogen of skin, soft tissue, and bone disease and usually presents as localized granulomatous lesions or abscesses in the skin or subcutaneous tissues following accidental trauma, surgical incisions, puncture wounds, or direct inoculation of microorganisms by local injection in immunocompetent patients (1,5). In addition, cases of keratitis, otitis media, and rhinosinusitis have also been reported, likely due to direct local inoculation (1,(6)(7)(8).
