Rhinocerebral mucormycosis in patients without predisposing medical conditions: a review of the literature

Abstract: Rhinocerebral mucormycosis is a rare disease, affecting almost exclusively patients with known predisposing conditions such as diabetes mellitus, immunocompromised status, haemochromatosis or major trauma.
