“…The electrochemical phenomena might have been due to the superior electrical conductivity of the graphene with few layers obtained in this study. The electrons involved in the redox reaction of metal corrosion could be transferred through graphene; this consequently resulted in a smaller I corr and larger impedance modulus …”

“…Because epoxy resin coatings (ERCs) possess many advantages, including good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, and low shrinkage, they have been extensively used as preferred protective barriers for metallic surfaces . Although water‐based epoxy resins are considered to environmentally friendly, lots of micropores can be generated during the curing process at higher temperature; consequently, this makes it easy for external corrosive media to intrude into the metallic substrate . The introduction of microfillers and nanofillers into water‐based ERCs might be an effective approach for drastically reducing the number of micropores and thus boosting the barrier properties of ERCs.…”

“…This shows the good barrier properties of epoxy-ZP coating, which could be attributed to the presence of the pigments as well as the epoxy resin. The pigments fill the micro holes and cuts in the epoxy coating, as a result of that the epoxy resin porosity diminishes [25][26][27]. for the standard epoxy coating, after 1 h of exposure it was 9.50 kΩ·cm and then dropped to 5.90 kΩ·cm 2 after 4392 h of exposure.…”

The Bode plot is a combination of the Bode magnitude plot and Bode phase plot which shows the magnitude of high frequency and low frequency regions due to coating capacitance and charge transfer process, respectively [23].…”
