“…Few studies that have tried to disentangle the subjective experience of craving from reported temptation to drink (Ooteman, Koeter, Vserhuel, Schippers, & van den Brink, 2006); however, one recent study found the Temptation scale of the Alcohol Abstinence Self-Efficacy Scale (DiClemente et al, 1994) could be conceptualized as measuring two types of craving experiences: reward craving and relief craving (Glöckner-Rist, Lémenager, Mann & PREDICT Study Research Group, 2013). Further, in a recently detoxified sample of individuals with AUD the authors found that both types of craving experiences, as measured by the Temptation scale, were significantly associated with perceived stress.…”
