Abstract: The Triglochin bulbosa complex (Juncaginaceae) from the Mediterranean region and Africa is revised. One new species, Triglochin buchenaui Köcke, Mering & Kadereit, and two new subspecies, Triglochin bulbosa subsp. calcicola Mering, Köcke & Kadereit and Triglochin bulbosa subsp. quarcicola Mering, Köcke & Kadereit, are described from South Africa. Being that the specimen proposed by Köcke & al. (2010) was collected 16 years after the taxon was published and original material exists, this lectotypification is not correct.…”

“…The BC specimen also has a revision label by Mering who re-determined it as Triglochin barrelieri Loisel. According to Köcke & al. (2010), this species is very variable in overall size and fruit and pedicel length, and includes also plants with long pedicels and big fruits, the distinctive characters of T. barrelieri var.…”
