Reviewing of the Simulation Models in Cost Management of the Construction Projects

Abstract: Simulation and computational techniques cover a variety of aspects also had proved its feasibility in construction management as whole, so it had adopted by a lot of researches during the last decades with rapid progress. The current study presents a focused review about construction cost simulation using, and provides an overview of such advancements achieved between 1990 and 2016 in construction management sector. This paper focuses specifically on many different topics including construction cost simulation… Show more

“…Identifying factors that negatively affect labour productivity in construction projects has been a major concern for managers [32,38]. After careful analysis of the top influential factors cited by researchers [10,12], [21][22][23], [39][40][41][42][43], the factors that appeared repeatedly were identified and extracted.…”

“…Parametric model was developed in the early 1960s, it has been used to find the relationship between the response and one or more factors, usually by applying regression analysis to the parameters [31]. [32] Developed a parametric equation based on multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis to model the labour productivity of marble floor finishing works in Iraq.100 data including 10 influencing factors were collected and used to predict productivity, good performance, and a high correlation was obtained, indicating a good relationship between the response and the factors, and the model can be reliably used to estimate productivity. In another study conducted by [33] to estimate the percentage loss or increase in construction labour productivity, 14 influencing factors were defined and used to develop a regression model, the author argued that the proposed model can accurately predict construction labour productivity.…”

“…It is the process of helping the team to design a cost rather than Quantity Surveyor/Estimator costing a design. The main advantages of cost management are to provide direction for project cost management during the project life cycle [7]. The project management book [8] also stated that cost management is predominantly concerned with cost of resources required to complete a project during execution stage which include the cost of tendering, construction, maintaining, and supporting results of the project.…”
