Undoubtedly Malaysian construction industry contributes enormously towards Malaysia's nation economic growth.Despite the significant role of the construction industry plays in the country's development and its heavy contribution towards economic growth and employment, the statistics show a high prevalence of accidents and injuries in the industry, resulting in nonpermanent or permanent disabilities, fatalities and damage or loss of property. Past research suggests that on-site construction accidents can be prevented by identifying the root causes, thereby making such predictions based on knowledge and resources on accident causation possible. The aim of this study is to develop an Accident Causation for Accident Prevention (ACfAP) model for key management parties at Malaysia building construction sites. At this stage, this paper will present the initial stage of study (the information gathering phase) by presents the significant groups of accident causations factors for accident prevention. In overall, this ongoing research will be divided into three phases; (i) the information gathering phase;; (ii) the model development phase; and (iii) the model analysis phase. First, previous studies on safety, accident causation and prevention of accidents at construction sites are briefly reviewed from books, theses and journal articles in order to provide a global perspective on the subject. Second, a comprehensive ACfAP will be developed based on the attributes of accident causation obtained from expert surveys. Third, the hypothesised relationships are tested using partial least squares (PLS) path modelling approach. Finally the ACfAP Model for key management at building construction sites will be developed.

Accidents while working in the construction industry source many tangible and intangible losses. Although various measures have been taken to reduce occupational accidents in the construction sector, occupational accidents are still increasing, especially in Indonesia. Meanwhile there is some literature on the relationship between personality traits and accidents, much remains to be considered before applying the research to accident prevention. Therefore, there is a need to study in detail the correlations between the Big 5 characteristics and safety behaviors, including other variables, so that preventive action can be taken as a form of occupational injury prevention. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the Big 5 personality traits, using personal values and safety culture as variables influencing safety behavior in construction workers. This study analyzes or resolves not only the direct impact of Big 5 personality traits on safety behavior of construction workers, but also the indirect impact through personal values and safety culture. Data were collected through interviews with 300 construction workers in Surabaya, Malang and Batu, East Java, Indonesia. The results showed that the Big 5 personality had a significant positive impact on workplace safety behavior with a difference of 0.299. In addition, personal values and safety culture as intervention variables may influence the impact of Big 5 personality traits on workers' safety behavior. The 0.788 and 0.545 Big 5 personalities have a significant impact on personal values and safety culture. One of the dominant indicators when measuring the Big 5 personality structure is neuroticism, with the highest stress factor of 0.928. Therefore, if management wants to improve worker safety behavior, it should conduct a workplace analysis to hire competent workers with a high degree of neuroticism

Construction industry plays a significant part in the growth of Malaysia's economy, and it is one of the country's most vital industries. Therefore, falling from a scaffolding is one of the most prevalent construction hazards. Scaffolding accidents are increased by factors such as inadequate capacity and incorrect usage of Personal Protective Equipment. Based on the previous studies, none of the researcher has reviewed scaffolding safety issues by using systematic literature review method. As a result, this review was driven to emphasize thecurrent state of scaffolding unsafe factors in order to close this research gap. The purpose of this systematic review is to summarize the available research from 2012 to 2022 about the current state of scaffolding unsafe factors. The research used Atlas.ti 8, a keyword search, and a snowballing approach to filter for inclusion criteria from SCOPUS, Science Direct, and Web of Science. However, following the inclusion and exclusion procedure, only 29 papers were utilized to assess the final articles. A thematic assessment of these 29 papers identified initial codes identifying and categorizing them as follows: worker behavior, worker skill, site condition, design fault, insufficient equipment, management problem, and Personal Protective Equipment. The discovery is likely to enhance scaffolding safety on construction sites. For future research, other researcher can use primary method such as qualitative or quantitative method focusing on specific location to determine scaffolding unsafe factors for a particular type of scaffoldings
