“…To our knowledge, spontaneous resolution of HPS has rarely been described in the literature. Limited case reports of resolution of HPS have occurred in the setting of concurrent development of portopulmonary hypertension or after improvement in liver disease and portal hypertension 3‐6. Our patient's dramatic improvement in gas exchange was not associated with any objective changes in the severity of his liver disease, and there was no evidence to suggest that the severity of his portal hypertension had improved with surrogate markers such as the platelet count, ascites, and splenomegaly remaining unchanged over time.…”
