“…While Heena and Kumari showed women with previous cesarean section had a higher risk of abnormal placentation (55.5%) than placenta previa (33.3%). The risk of pre-eclampsia in our study (10%) was comparable to that of Heena and Kumari (11.1%) [ 12 ].…”

“…While the incidence of placenta accreta and increta in our study was comparable to that of Heena and Kumari, the incidence of percreta in our study (20%) was higher than that of Heena and Kumari (5.5%), which may be due to older maternal age among these women [12]. Increased maternal age is an independent risk factor for abnormal placentation [12][13][14]. In the present study, 80% of the women were multiparous, which corroborates the association of abnormal placentation with increasing parity [12].…”

“…In recent years, due to increases in the caesarean section rate and uterine cavity operation rate, the incidence of PAS has increased, and the incidence of related postpartum haemorrhage has also increased [6]. Uncontrollable postpartum haemorrhage can occur when PAS is present in combination with placenta previa [7][8][9]. Caesarean section is the main treatment method for PAS, and haemorrhage control during the operation is key for successful treatment.…”

“…Maternal age: multiparity was associated with the highest risk of placenta previa. Heena, 2020 13 Other study conducted during an eight-year period, we collected 18 emergency hysterectomy specimens, of which placenta accreta accounted for 55.5% (10/18), placenta increta for 38.8% (7/18), and placenta percreta for 5.5% (1/18). Examination of results by parity reveals that uniparous women account for up to 22,2 percent (4/18), whereas multiparous women account for 77% (14/18).…”
