RETRACTED: Research on Rural Revitalization and Governance From the Perspective of Sustainable Development

Over the past few years, rural revitalization has become a focal point of interest in the discourse of sustainable development. However, there exists a gap in understanding the factors that foster economic sustainability in rural settings. The current study seeks to investigate the influence of digital economic transformation on rural revitalization in the context of China by employing a serial mediation model encompassing green entrepreneurship and green innovation. Data were collected from rural entrepreneurs using a stratified sampling method, with strata identified based on geographical and socioeconomic factors, which allowed for a comprehensive examination of various business sizes and stages across sectors. The authors analyzed the structural paths using multivariate analytical techniques by utilizing SmartPLS-SEM. The empirical findings provide support to the hypothesized relationships that: (1) digital economic transformation significantly promotes green entrepreneurship, which in turn, cultivates green innovation; and (2) green entrepreneurship and green innovation serially mediate the association between digital economic transformation and rural revitalization. Our study provides a holistic model that can inform regulatory frameworks and governmental strategies to support sustainable rural development in China.

Impact of Village Governance Quality on the Satisfaction of Farmers’ Life Experiences

This study presents a discussion concerning the impact of village governance quality on farmers' life experience satisfaction using a multiple linear regression model. Accordingly, there is an analysis regarding the heterogeneity of the impact of village governance quality on farmers' life experience satisfaction from the perspective of income differentiation and career differentiation. The results show the following: (1) The improvement of village governance quality is conducive to improving the satisfaction of farmers' life experiences. Among them, the living and social conditions have the greatest impact, followed by village cohesion, and then village inclusiveness. (2) From the perspective of income differentiation, the quality of village governance plays the largest role in promoting the life experience satisfaction of middle-income farmers, followed by low-income farmers, and then high-income farmers. (3) From the perspective of occupational differentiation, the quality of village governance has the largest role in promoting the satisfaction of part-time farmers' life experiences, followed by full-time farmers, and then non-agricultural farmers. Based on the research conclusion, it is suggested that strengthening the quality of village governance and paying attention to the differentiation of the farmers' economy and occupation will improve the satisfaction of farmers' life experiences.

Livelihood Resilience of Rural Residents under Natural Disasters in China

The impact of natural disasters on rural areas has recently increased, the question of how to effectively improve the livelihood resilience of rural residents has therefore become an essential issue. In this context, a livelihood resilience evaluation index system for rural residents was constructed in four dimensions: livelihood quality, livelihood promotion, livelihood provision, and disaster stress. A structural dynamics model was used to analyze the changing characteristics of the livelihood resilience of rural residents in China between the years 1980 and 2020, and a livelihood resilience trend from 2021 to 2030 was predicted based on the ARIMA model. The main factors influencing livelihood resilience were explored using ridge regression analysis. The results show that: (1) livelihood resilience of rural residents in China fluctuated significantly between 1980 and 2020, tending generally to increase; (2) livelihood resilience is positively correlated with livelihood quality, livelihood promotion, and livelihood provision, while it is negatively correlated with disaster stress; (3) livelihood quality, livelihood promotion, and livelihood supply will still increase between the years 2021 and 2030, while the increase of livelihood resilience will tend to slow down; and (4) six variables have a significant positive impact on livelihood resilience, and provide a basis for the subsequent enhancement of livelihood resilience.
