Retournement et reproduction : l’usage des questions sexuelles dans la campagne municipale d’Alain Juppé (2013-2014)

Abstract

Ce travail prend pour objet les usages des questions sexuelles dans la campagne municipale d’Alain Juppé à Bordeaux (2013-2014). Maire sortant, il conduit une liste d’union de la droite et du centre dans laquelle les questions liées aux droits des femmes et des homosexuel.le.s ont a priori toutes les chances d’être clivantes. Pour autant, ces sujets potentiellement conflictuels à droite et préemptés par la gauche ne sont pas évités mais, au contraire, mis en avant. Cette opération passe notamment par une reprise de ces questions dans le cadre d’une politique municipale de conciliation. Cette action locale permet ainsi à A. Juppé de régénérer son entreprise politique bordelaise à travers la rénovation des thématiques chabanistes et gaullistes du rassemblement en les associant au développement d’une politique libérale. Au-delà de la configuration politique locale, cette étude éclaire également la préparation d’une prise de rôle de présidentiable assise sur une expérience mayorale.

Prefigurative leadership: The building of leadership roles in a municipal campaign

Thus, the center-right remained in power despite the changing sociology of the city which has become closer to the left and attracted an increasing number of graduates and managers over the last decade.…”
