Kim et al (2014) (Lee et al, 2014).…”

“…Measured H max (Hs) at buoys of KOGA-S1, KOGA-S4 and IORS were 20.7 m (12.3 m), 17.2 m (11.2 m) and 17.3 m (11.1 m) respectively. They are very unusual and record-breaking extreme waves although Bolaven was not the strongest recorded typhoon in the ECS (Kim et al, 2014). The extreme waves generated by this typhoon whose heights were larger than 10 m varied in a small range and continued for more than 6 hours.…”

“…1. It generated record-breaking extreme waves (H max = 20.7 m at KOGA-S1 and 17.3 m at Ocean Tower (OT) stations; http://www.khoa.go.kr/) in the deep-water of the ECS (Kim et al, 2014) , and 11.8 m waves (H s ) at Kang Jung in shallow water (KHOA, 2012;Jeong et al, 2012) (Fig. 2).…”

“…This cold wake effect impacts the direction and intensity of other typhoons [28,[34][35][36][37][38]. Jeong et al [34] also considered how the typhoon-induced cold wake of Typhoon Ewiniar (0603; the third typhoon of 2006) inhibited the development of Typhoon Billis (0604; the fourth typhoon of 2006).Typhoon Bolaven (1215) resulted in a decrease of about 10 • C along the coast of Jeollanam-do in the Yellow Sea, and the intensity of Typhoon Tembin (1214) was weakened by the rapidly cooled sea surface [35]. However, Kim et al [35] only noted the weakened intensity of Tembin in response to the cooling from Bolaven without investigating the processes that led to this weakening.…”

Moon et al [37] and Heo et al [38] also studied the change in the track of the following and weakening of Tembin via the cold wake using Bolaven and Tembin and focusing on 10 m wind and changes in the waves caused by a typhoon.…”
