Resistência de genótipos de batata ao vírus do enrolamento da folha da batata (PLRV) e ao vírus Y (PVY)

Abstract: Resistance of potato genotypes to Potato leafroll virus and to Potato virus YPotato leafroll virus (PLRV) and Potato virus Y (PVY) are the main causes of degeneration of potato seeds in Brazil. The field resistance of potato genotypes to these viruses was evaluated in Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, of 20 clones and cultivars, during three consecutive spring cropping seasons. Virus detection was carried out by serological tests (DAS-ELISA). Using the grouping analysis, the genotypes were separated in three gr… Show more

“…The economically most damaging diseases are potato leafroll virus (PLRV), potato virus Y (PVY) and potato virus X (PVX). Currently PVY has caused most damage and surpassed PLRV in numbers, with losses of up to 80% (Valkonen 2007, Daniels andPereira 2004).…”

“…Em Castro, a preocupação é tão grande com a sanidade, que em uma das lavouras visitadas, a cultivar Atlantic, que é suscetível a PVY (Daniels & Pereira, 2004;Crosslin et al, 2006), apesar de estar já na quarta geração de campo, apresentava apenas 10% de incidência do vírus (Tabela 2).…”

“…In Brazil, potato virosis control is difficult due to the absence of severe winters, and the mild climate favors the reproduction of the aphid vector all year, especially during the potato crop season PEREIRA, 2004). No region or season is free from the aphid vector, and control by insecticides is, in addition to being, as a rule, ineffective for virosis control (mainly for Potato Virus Y or PVY), harmful to the environment; for this reason, other strategies are currently being researched PEREIRA, 2004).…”
