Due to the long-term threat that it poses, COVID-19 has become an important problem for businesses, and therefore, for national economies. Obviously, organizations that have survived this process will be able to continue with more stability and will gain significant gains in terms of organizational resilience. The aim of this study is to investigate the strategies of businesses to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 period and the subsequent recovery process from the perspective of human resources, leaders, and corporate structure. From this point of view, this study was carried out with a case study, which is one of the qualitative research designs. During the data collection process of the study, interviews were conducted with fifteen senior managers of businesses operating in various sectors, selected by the purposive sampling technique. The data obtained from the in-depth and semistructured interviews were subjected to thematic analysis in a case study design. The findings, which are divided under the three main headings of human resources, leadership, and organization/system, point to the following results: In terms of human resources: experience, generating ideas, psychological resilience, and commitment to the organization and its culture; in terms of leadership: valuing the employees, analytical thinking, foresight, quick decision making and prudence; and in terms of organization/system: positive financial situation, quick response to the market, the effectiveness of alternative solutions, effective use of digital infrastructure and online commerce, as well as effective communication/ cooperation, contribute effectively to organizational resilience.

Stewart, Reid and Mangham (1997) defined resilience as an individual's ability or capacity to cope effectively when faced with significant changes, negative or risky situations in his life.…”

The Mediating Effect of Academic Resilience on the Relationship Between Psychological Resilience and Academic Achievement

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effect of academic resentment in mathematics on the relationship between the psychological resilience of secondary school students and the academic achievement of mathematics courses. In the study, the relational screening model was used from quantitative research models. The study group consists of a total of 140 students, 65 girls, and 75 boys, who are studying in the 6th and 7th grades of secondary schools in the İzmit district of Kocaeli province in the 2022-2023 academic year. The Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), Academic Resilience Scale in Mathematics and grade point averages of mathematics courses were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed with SPSS 27 statistical analysis program and the added Process patch. As a result of the research, it was determined that there were positive significant relationships between psychological resilience and academic resilience, psychological resilience and academic achievement, and academic resilience and academic achievement variables. In addition, it was concluded that mathematics had a mediating effect on the relationship between psychological resilience and academic achievement.

This study examined the relationship between empowering leader behaviors of school principals and self-efficacy and organizational resilience perceptions of teachers. The universe of the research consisted of teachers working in public primary schools in 5 education regions in the center of Elâzığ in the 2020-2021 educational year. Among them, 385 took part in the study. Simple random sampling, one of the probabilistic sampling methods, was used in sample selection. The Structural Equation Modelling results revealed that self-efficacy predicted organizational resilience, and empowering leadership predicted teachers' self-efficacy and organizational resilience in a positive and significant way. In addition, empowering leadership explained 20% of the variance in self-efficacy, and empowering leadership and self-efficacy explained 40% of the variance in organizational resilience.Finally, it was concluded that self-efficacy had a partial mediating role in the relationship between empowering leadership and organizational resilience.
