Purpose of the study is to examine the predictive role of ostracism on life satisfaction of Turkish adolescents. Secondly, it is aimed to examine the mediator role of self-efficacy on this relationship. Participants of the study are 659 adolescents between the ages of 15-18 (x̄ = 16.45; SD = 1.08). Mediation model was established to explain relationships between ostracism, self-efficacy, and life satisfaction. A mediation model was designed for ignorance and the other one is designed for exclusion as independent variables. First hypothesis is, ostracism negatively predicts life satisfaction. Additionally, another hypothesis of the study is self-efficacy will act as a mediator in the relationship between ostracism and life satisfaction. Data collection was realized via self-report scales to measure ostracism experience, self-efficacy levels, and life satisfaction levels of Turkish adolescents. Results exhibit correlation between life satisfaction and self-efficacy. And also, life satisfaction and self-efficacy exhibit negative correlation with ignorance and exclusion. Self-efficacy significantly predicted life satisfaction. Self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between ignorance-exclusion and life satisfaction.

The sport presents an opportunity for young people to experience the joys of success and cope with setbacks to develop resilient behaviors. However, there is a lack of clarity about how sport can cultivate resilience, particularly among adolescent girls. This study investigated the validation of the Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and its role in predicting aggression in Iranian athletic adolescent girls. The method of the present study was cross-sectional. The population of this study was Iranian athletic adolescent girls, and 475 Iranian athletic adolescent girls were selected through the convenience sampling method. The participants completed the Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Quality of Mindfulness, General Self-efficacy (GSE), Alexithymia, and Aggression Scale. The CD-RISC's psychometric properties were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), while reliability was tested using Cronbach’s alpha. Discriminant validity was measured by examining the relationship with alexithymia, and convergent validity was assessed with the quality of mindfulness and GSE. In addition, multiple regression analysis was conducted on the prediction of aggression by the CD-RISC subscales. The five-factor structure provided a good fit for the data. CD-RISC had significant negative associations with alexithymia, and there was a significant positive correlation between CD-RISC and Quality of Mindfulness, GSE. The results indicate that CD-RISC significantly predicts aggression in athletic adolescent girls. The CD-RISC has good validity for athletic adolescent girls in Iran and can be used in psychological evaluations in the Iranian context.

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to dramatic changes in the learning environment and living conditions of college students, who face enormous psychological challenges in the ubiquitous AI environment. Modern student-management research has focused on developing mechanisms for enhancing life satisfaction, alleviating emotional anxiety, and improving self-confidence. This study aims to investigate the influence of participation in cultural and artistic activities on college students’ life satisfaction. Through a questionnaire survey and data analysis of 708 college students, this study found a significant positive relationship between participation in cultural and artistic activities and college students’ life satisfaction. Further mediation analysis showed that positive psychological capital played a mediating role between participation in cultural and artistic activities and life satisfaction. Additionally, emotional intelligence was found to play a moderating role in this relationship, and college students with higher emotional intelligence had a more significant effect on positive psychological capital in terms of participation in cultural and artistic activities. The results of this study herein provide a new understanding of life satisfaction research among college students and offer practical guidance for promoting college students’ mental health and psychological well-being. This research also demonstrates the importance of participation in cultural and artistic activities and encourages college students to be active therein to enhance their psychological capital and improve life satisfaction. Furthermore, the cultivation and enhancement of emotional intelligence is emphasized as a key factor for college students to improve their psychological well-being through cultural and artistic activities.
