Reserve navigation system for ships based on coastal radio beacons

Abstract: Satellite navigation is now widely used in a land, sea, and air transport. It is easy to forecast the negative effects related to the lack of a signal of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), especially in the aviation and maritime traffic. In 20th century they were allayed the terrestrial navigation systems, e.g. Decca, Omega, Loran-C. Recently, only eLoran is used, as a backup system for GNSS. The Polish Defense Ministry plans to develop a new navigation system that should provide positioning data f… Show more

“…At the same time, methods of positioning improvement are applied both by such technical solutions as alternative positioning systems [Kelner, J.M. et al, 2016;Sadowski, J., Stefański, J., 2017], radar positioning [Stateczny, A. et al, 2019] and multi-GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) solutions [Specht, C. et al, 2019a;Yang, C. et al, 2016] using Kalman filtering [Xinchun, Z. et al, 2016].…”
