Research on Vehicle Dynamics Simulation for Driving Simulator

Abstract: In order to fulfill the requirement of vehicle dynamics performance and real-time capability in driving simulator, modeling and simulation method of a four-wheeled vehicle model based on multi body dynamics software Vortex was studied. Fundamental construction and dynamics properties of the model such as body, chassis, wheels, power train, suspension and tyre model were described. The model was tested to simulate on the C grade of road. The results indicate that the model and simulation method can well represe… Show more

“…The multi-body dynamics software Vortex is used to build this armored vehicle in AVES. In AVES simulation, barrel, turret, chassis, suspension and wheels are created as different parts, they are assembled together as a armored vehicle, then powertrain and control system is added to drive vehicle, material and contact property is set for terrain to build an accurate physical inactive simulation [10]. The rendering of Vortex armored vehicle simulation is shown in Fig.2.…”

“…So the vehicle system is divided into: the engine object, the powertrain object, the steering system object, braking system object and driving system object. Study of fire protection system to two parts is the power divider and pump clutch objects and fire pump and piping objects [11]. The engine model includes two parts of engine characteristic data and the simulation.…”
