Sustainability is a growing concern for manufacturing companies, as they are major contributors to pollution and consume a substantial portion of the world´s natural resources. Sustainable manufacturing can reduce waste, conserve energy and increase resource efficiency. However, one of the main challenges facing manufacturing organisations to put sustainability into practice is the lack of understanding of the cause-and-effect relationships between critical indicators of sustainable manufacturing. To overcome this challenge, a novel, rigorous and integrated framework, composed of four quantitative methods, is proposed to analyse critical indicators of sustainable manufacturing. The analysis is based on responses from both academic and industry experts. These four methods including DEMATEL (decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory), the MMDE (maximum mean de-entropy) algorithm, ISM (interpretive structural modelling) and SEM (structural equation modelling) are uniquely integrated to present statistically validated relationships between critical indicators using information on varying degrees of relationship between them. The final cause-and-effect models for the respondent groups (i.e., researchers and industry experts) are further validated through gathering the viewpoints of a researcher and an industry practitioner for its robustness. The novelty of our research lies in: (1) proposing a novel and integrated rigorous quantitative framework combined with qualitative research method; (2) applying the proposed framework to analyse contextual relationships between critical indicators of implementing sustainability, in the manufacturing sector as a whole, which to the best of authors' knowledge is the first of its kind; and (3) comparing and contrasting results of researchers and industry practitioners' groups along with a check of their validation and robustness.

While specialized services continue to be developed in the mining industry, there has been a lack of corresponding risk management research in China. This study develops a risk assessment index framework of general contract for mine production and operational specialized service. From previous research, the risk factors for specialized mine production and operation services are identified and the index framework is set up. An index weight is established using Delphi and set-valued statistics-triangular fuzzy number method, and a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is applied to assess the mine production and operation risks. With the Jinjie Coal Mine of the Shendong Coal Group selected as a test case, this shows that safety risk, environmental risk, and economic risk belong to level II. Management risk, resources risk, contract risk, and technological risk belong to level I, and the total risk of Jinjie coal mine belongs to level II. The results of the case study indicated that the proposed prevention and control strategies offered a better guide for the risk management practices for the specialized services at Shendong Coal Group.

Cloud computing and cloud applications are emerging as the latest technology.Cloud applications are developing very fast and adopted by most of the firms around the globe. The cloud applications are widely accepted and considered as a notion of the digitized era, but the cloud product lifecycle management (PLM) is not adopted much in Indian firms. Cloud PLM is an upcoming cloud application, but its adoption entails various challenges. Considering this fact, the paper aims to empirically investigate the critical challenges encountered by many firms for migration to of cloud PLM. A multicriteria decision making method, grey Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory along with interpretive structural modeling are employed to identify the causal challenges and their hierarchy to cloud PLM adoption. This empirical study brings out "data security" and "trust on solution provider" as the most important and critical challenges for migration to cloud PLM adoption. The findings may act as a guide for the managers in manufacturing firms in identifying the critical challenges to utilize the benefits of cloud PLM over on-premise PLM systems.
