Research on Seepage Control of Jurong Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Station

Abstract: Based on the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the Jurong Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Station (JPSHP), a 3D groundwater flow model was developed in the power station area, which took into account the heterogeneity and anisotropy of fractured rocks. A control inversion method for fractured rock structural planes was proposed, where larger-scale fractures were used as water-conducting media and the relatively intact rock matrix was used as water-storage media. A statistical method was used to o… Show more

“…This is particularly true for basins with inadequate seepage prevention capabilities, especially those characterized by karst formations and complex geological conditions. Consequently, the identification of leakage passages beneath the reservoir basin, assessment of the seepage pathways in fractured networks, analysis of the underground hydraulic connections, and the development of an effective seepage prevention strategy are critical for ensuring judicious investment management [2,3]. Comprehensive investigation of the complex hydrogeological conditions for the reservoir, determination of groundwater hydraulic connections, and identification of potential leakage passages are essential.…”

“…Taking argillaceous dolomite in the JPSPS as the research object, the power station is located in Jurong City, Jiangsu Province, about 26 km from Jurong city, and 65 km from Nanjing City, China [25]. The total installed capacity is 1350 MW.…”
